PORTLAND, OR -- Americans for Responsible Solutions PAC, the gun violence prevention organization founded by former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and retired NASA astronaut Captain Mark Kelly, has endorsed Kate Brown to continue to serve as Oregon’s governor. Governor Brown has been recognized among national gun violence prevention advocates and organizations for her proactive leadership in the movement to keep guns out of the hands of dangerous people and protect communities in her state.

"Governor Kate Brown has been a tireless, courageous voice for responsible change that helps keep guns out of the wrong hands, save lives, and make Oregon's families safer. From signing legislation to close loopholes in the state's criminal background check laws for gun sales to making it harder for domestic abusers to get guns, at every step Governor Brown has stood up to the gun lobby and stood up for responsibility. We are grateful to have Kate Brown as a champion for the vocal majority of Oregonians calling on Congress to act to reduce gun violence, and we look forward to continuing to stand with her in the fight for safer communities," said former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and Navy combat veteran Captain Mark Kelly, the Co-Founders of the gun violence prevention organization Americans for Responsible Solutions PAC.

"I am thrilled and honored to have the backing of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, Captain Mark Kelly, and their commendable organization, Americans for Responsible Solutions PAC," said Governor Kate Brown. "Violence answers nothing, offers nothing, and solves nothing. If we want this senseless cycle to end, we must instill hope and create opportunity. That’s why I will continue to do everything in my power to make Oregon a safer place for every family to live, work and thrive.”
