Portland -- With just four days left in the race for Oregon Governor, a crowd of over 100 supporters gathered at Portland Community College’s Cascade Campus for a rally with Cecile Richards, former president of Planned Parenthood, and Governor Kate Brown.

Richards, who led Planned Parenthood to unparalleled success in her 12 years as president of the organization, argued that there is a huge contrast in the governor’s race when it comes to health care.

“It’s because of Kate Brown that we have the Reproductive Health Equity Act, making sure that every single pregnant person can make their own decisions about their pregnancies and about their healthcare,” Richards said. “But you know who voted against it? Knute Buehler. The truth is we just can’t trust our lives, we can’t trust our family’s lives, our community, our state, or our future to Knute Buehler.”

At 4pm, Richards will join volunteers for a canvass kick off at SEIU 503 (6401 SE Foster Rd., Portland).

This evening at 7pm, Richards will lead a discussion about reproductive rights and what it means to be a “Wild Feminist” at Wildfang West (404 SW 10th Ave., Portland)
