Republican candidate for Governor Knute Buehler refused to say whether or not he believed Dr. Christine Blasey Ford’s testimony and ducked a reporter’s questions about Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court nomination.

Genevieve Reaume of KATU-TV was at a gaffe-filled Buehler press conferencewhen she asked for Buehler’s reaction to the news of the day:

“When KATU News asked if he believed her accusations, he said, ‘I think we need to have a full FBI investigation, have all the facts on the table.’ After giving that answer to the question, he ended the news conference.”

Reaume also tweeted, “I asked him two questions about Kavanaugh. That’s all I could get in before he wrapped up the news conference. I asked if he believed Dr. Ford. He didn’t have a clear yes or no.

“Buehler refuses to believe Dr. Ford and is ducking and running from reporters to hide the fact that he’s siding with the Trump White House on the most important Supreme Court nomination of our lifetime,” said Christian Gaston, communications director for the Kate Brown campaign. “To be clear, we know more than enough right now to know that Kavanaugh is not fit to serve on the highest court in the land. Buehler is completely out of step with Oregonians on this.”

On Wednesday, Knute Buehler told KATU-TV that Kavanaugh “deserves to be heard.” He said, “I will reserve my judgment” until after the hearing.

Knute Buehler’s reaction after seeing the heart-wrenching testimony from Dr. Blasey Ford yesterday? She and Brett Kavanaugh were “both compelling.”

Buehler was also called out by Senator Ron Wyden and Senator Jeff Merkleyyesterday for refusing to take a real position as Donald Trump’s pick for the Supreme Court threatened access to abortion and healthcare across the country.
